May 9th marks the end of WWII
and the proclamation came the day after on newspapers.
"10 MAY 1945"
"OUR CAUSE IS RIGHT, WE HAVE WON!"
Soviet Leader: Joseph Stalin
British Prime Minister: Winston Churchill
U.S. President: Harry Truman
The WWII has ended 70 years ago.
People in Russia and the former Soviet Republics celebrate Victory Day on May 9 as a national holiday.
May people never forget what it had caused the world. May people remember those who have fallen and keep in mind what they fought for.
May people understand the value of peace, life and future.
May any bloodshed NEVER again happen in any lifetime.
RIP to all lives taken by the war.
PEACE to the world!

i wish we humans could learn from these tragedies - better than we have.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that. We remember the end of WWII on 8th May in France, which is a holiday.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed! Peace to the world!
ReplyDeleteI believe none of us should ever forget the horrors of WWII. A powerful time that affected all of our lives. Thank you for remembering.
ReplyDeleteMy fervent wish is that humankind could find some way to solve disagreements that does not include violence. No one really wins when someone hurts someone else.
ReplyDeletePeace on Earth, may it be so.
ReplyDeleteIf only we could learn from the past and not keep repeating our mistakes. Peace to the world--yes, please.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Peace to the world!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't understand war. I really hope we'll see world peace in our lifetime.
ReplyDeleteThis post was very relevant for me as I recently finished reading a couple of books in which the subject of World War II was a primary topic. War is destructive on so manynkeveks, but most of all how it decimates people.
