Halloween

Halloween is not really practiced in Russia. However if one goes to an English school, he or gets a chance to know what it is and even celebrate it.

Kids do love it, aside from wearing costumes, they can enjoy lots of sweets without being limited by parents.

Since kids cannot go trick or treating from house to house, we just hosted a party for them. We decorated their classrooms and invited them to come for trick or treat party.

They come in costumes and we give prizes to those who wore the best costume. It 's actually difficult to choose because most of them have really beautiful, fitting-to the occasion costumes.
Games are the heart of every kids' party. Kids enjoy it, parents and grandparents enjoy it more watching their kids have fun.
Like I said, they haven't got the chance to go trick or treating  so we've prepared lots of sweets and snacks for them. We don't have a pumpkin this year though.
There is a part in the program when all kids gather and together go to another classroom where adults are having class to ask for treats. Adults were informed beforehand of course. They give them treats in exchange of few simple questions in English which kids have to answer of course. That's the closest we can do to house to house trick or treating.
Food which everybody enjoyed eating. From drinking blood (tomato juice) to eating ghosts and vampires (lollipops) and worms (gummy candies).

And of course we've gone spooky too. We turned off the lights leaving only the disco ball with some horror dance music. They danced, spooked around, ran after each other. They were allowed to go crazy and party in their own way; teachers hoping that they get tired. But hey guess what, they didn't even until the party was over.
