Back to Earth

We are definitely back on Earth. I can see earth-the ground! Spring is so happening. The sun is out. The sky is blue, airplanes I can see them. I 've seen stars the other night. It was the first after the long winter. I can hear birds chirping, the water, snow dripping from the roof, stream flowing from the melting snow. There is flood in yard and along the sidewalks. The snow is crazily melting like it has never melted before. The wind is different, it's  chilly but not frigid.  It feels like in summer when it is about to rain. It is fresh, it is definitely spring and there is turning back.
I am so happy that it came early. 2 years ago it was so depressing when in June, I was still wearing my down jacket.

We're finally saying goodbye to the snow covered icy sidewalks sprinkled with sand or maybe even ground, sometimes they look black :)

Time calls for some treasure or scavengers hunt. It is quite dirty at the beginning of spring. The mess of melting snow mixed with sand, some cigarette  butts burried in snow are now slowly appearing. Coins, bracelets or sometimes even watches can be surprisingly found especially in the parks. Some  of which have been lost at night and haven't been found under the snow.

How about in your part of the world? I wish you are having a warmer weather now.

  1. It looks wonderful - spring is always welcome. In my part of the world, we get crazy weather swings this time of year - one day it will be 20 °C, the next it's a blizzard. But today's one of those perfect days.

  2. The temperature is in the 70's (Fahrenheit) today. There has been no snow on the ground for a while now. The trees are thinking about budding. Spring is coming.

Neat - scavenger hunt, that's right up my alley. I love finding treasures in the sand. I love looking for pretty rocks, too.
Hope you show us what you find.

  8. Spring is so welcome! It is getting much better here, too. There is still snow around, but a lot of it has melted. And my daffodils are poking their little heads out of the soil!

  10. Glad you are back on earth :-) The melting snow looks beautiful! I imagine they look lovely even when mixed with sand and being black after long white winter. We didn't have accumulating snow fall this winter. But still very happy to see green leaves among brown ones :-)
