We are definitely back on Earth. I can see earth-the ground! Spring is so happening. The sun is out. The sky is blue, airplanes I can see them. I 've seen stars the other night. It was the first after the long winter. I can hear birds chirping, the water, snow dripping from the roof, stream flowing from the melting snow. There is flood in yard and along the sidewalks. The snow is crazily melting like it has never melted before. The wind is different, it's chilly but not frigid. It feels like in summer when it is about to rain. It is fresh, it is definitely spring and there is turning back.
I am so happy that it came early. 2 years ago it was so depressing when in June, I was still wearing my down jacket.
We're finally saying goodbye to the snow covered icy sidewalks sprinkled with sand or maybe even ground, sometimes they look black :)
Time calls for some treasure or scavengers hunt. It is quite dirty at the beginning of spring. The mess of melting snow mixed with sand, some cigarette butts burried in snow are now slowly appearing. Coins, bracelets or sometimes even watches can be surprisingly found especially in the parks. Some of which have been lost at night and haven't been found under the snow.
How about in your part of the world? I wish you are having a warmer weather now.
It looks wonderful - spring is always welcome. In my part of the world, we get crazy weather swings this time of year - one day it will be 20 °C, the next it's a blizzard. But today's one of those perfect days.
ReplyDeleteThe temperature is in the 70's (Fahrenheit) today. There has been no snow on the ground for a while now. The trees are thinking about budding. Spring is coming.
ReplyDeletehooray for melting! yes, we finally turned the corner to spring in texas - it is about a month late, here. but we have rain and no more freezes.
ReplyDeleteThat's a grand feeling to see the ground after winter's covering! It's like a sigh of relief.
ReplyDeleteSpring is definitely here in the UK. The daffodils are just beginning to open their bright yellow heads.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your weather is warming up!
ReplyDeleteWarmer this week in Va. with 50's and 60's. I love winter so I should probably be where you are. I have always loved it.
ReplyDeleteNeat - scavenger hunt, that's right up my alley. I love finding treasures in the sand. I love looking for pretty rocks, too.
Hope you show us what you find.

Spring is so welcome! It is getting much better here, too. There is still snow around, but a lot of it has melted. And my daffodils are poking their little heads out of the soil!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Spring! It's supposed to be cold again this week, but I've enjoyed the warmer weather these past few days.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back on earth :-) The melting snow looks beautiful! I imagine they look lovely even when mixed with sand and being black after long white winter. We didn't have accumulating snow fall this winter. But still very happy to see green leaves among brown ones :-)
ReplyDeleteWell it's certainly warmer here, and spring is slowly arriving, but not actually melting much yet.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice that the snow is finally melting ! We didn't have really snow this year. It's still cold, but I hope spring will move in soon !
ReplyDeleteWe still have snow here but it IS melting. I feel like spring is very close now.
ReplyDeleteour snow is gone and our temperatures are warmer, 40's today!!! no sign of flowers or spring but i do see little pops of green, where the tulips will be soon!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear spring has started to arrive there for you. It has arrived here as well, and I am so glad to see it.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for your early spring! There is nothing like it after a dismal winter . (A memory for me now, because we run away from winter now that we are old and retired.) but I remember it well.
ReplyDeleteNice boots. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteOur snow (Minnesota, US) has gone, but tomorrow we will be getting a new batch. March is always pretty wintery here.
