Dolls

Russian, Tatar & other ethnicities costumed dolls
Muslim Tatar costume
 Christian converted Tatars
Russian national costume
(sorry the picture is cropped, I'll find other pics later for specific details)

I saw these dolls from one of the souvineer shops. The designer and the makers of these dolls have very impressive artwork. All these costumes have very minute details which they were able to provide in each doll. It is a lot of work too. I am sure I can't make anything like this. I even had to pay someone to finish school project before. It was a small crosstitch.

Each set of doll has the designers profile and contact. They're not only some woman who can sew a doll dress but they are also ethnologists.  They're expert at telling the differences between each doll's costume. I wish I speak Russian better, I could have had a great exchange of information. I could have learned more.
I will, and I'll be back for more.

  1. It is wonderful how much you are learning about where you are, embracing the culture. Costuming can teach us a lot of history. And the little girl still in this old lady wants all those sweet dolls! :)))
